Condiments

A condiment is a spice, sauce, or other food preparation that is added to food. Its main uses are to impart a particular flavor, to enhance its flavor or in some cultures, to complement the dish. It could also be used to mask certain smells of the food, or to prevent food poisoning with their antibacterial properties, in which case they often have preservative effects.
